NHL/WWE MARKETING AND TELEVISION VETERAN KEN GELMAN ANNOUNCES FORMATION OF G-FUNK SPORTS & ENTERTAINMENT

 

 

G-Funk Signs Inaugural Clients Rainbow Media, Arena Football League and Ring Of Honor

 

Weston, CT-Award-winning NHL and WWE marketing and television veteran Ken Gelman announces today the formation of G-Funk Sports & Entertainment, a full-service agency. G-Funk is dedicated to brand activation, strategic integration and driving maximum return on investment for its clients.

 

G-Funk's strengths center on three primary areas, Marketing Services (consumer promotion, affiliate activation and events), Partnership Alliances and Content Management (including distribution drives and launch strategies). The agency is supported by an experienced team of talent from fellow Fairfield County, CT marketing/advertising agency, The Voice.

 

The philosophy of the agency is to help brands 'Visualize, Strategize and Mobilize," says Gelman, a 15-year veteran from the corporate battlefields of sports and entertainment brand building.  "We believe in taking the partnership approach to marketing.  We help our clients set their goals, figure out their game plan, activate it, and maximize their marketing investment.

 

To this end, G-Funk has hit the ground running, signing such notable clients as Rainbow Media, the Arena Football League and Ring Of Honor, a professional wrestling federation.

 

Rainbow Media's SKOOL VOD franchise is seen in over 20 million homes. It has enlisted G-Funk for strategic marketing and programming initiatives and leveraging partnership marketing opportunities.

 

The 21st season of the Arena Football League started March. 1. "We are working closely with the AFL, its Member Clubs and television partners," says Gelman, "to create a buzz, drive ticket sales and viewership through an integrated marketing campaign.

 

Ring Of Honor, the growing pro wrestling federation, known for its brand of high-flying hard-hitting action, has long been regarded as an underground fan favorite.  G-Funk will handle all TV rights negotiations and related consumer and affiliate marketing. A major announcement is forthcoming.

 

 

 

Gelman comes to G-Funk from World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) in Stamford, CT where he oversaw its cable, satellite and broadcast affiliate businesses. His work was acknowledged nationally upon winning the 2006 CTAM Gold Mark Award for the WrestleMania 21 Affiliate Marketing Campaign.  Prior, he worked for the National Hockey League (NHL), overseeing the "NHL Center Ice" package and was involved in the launch of several media initiatives, including the NHL Network, a 24/7 digital television network in Canada.

 

 

Gelman began his career on Madison Avenue, playing a role in the growth of several advertising agencies, including Adler, Boschetto, Peebles & Partners and Wunderman.  Gelman resides in Weston, CT.
