Ben Webster is a Jazz musician known for his superior command of the tenor saxophone.  From the 1930s to the 1970s, he was a premier musician in the genre and beyond, starting with a highly successful stint with Duke Ellington.  Now, a new Super Audio CD release of his later work entitled My Romance is here on Super Audio CD and it is testament to his amazing talents.  It was transfers and remastered to the Direct Stream Digital format as follows:

The Project re-mastered by Povee Chan

32Bits/192kHz High Resolution Mastering

SADiE DSD Digital Precision

Mastering Monitor: Almarro M1A

Monitor Amplifier: Octave Jubliee Preamp

Power System: Isoclean Power Conditioning System

Mastered with Fap Cable

Hybrid Stereo, Plays on all SACD and CD Players

Made in Germany by Sonopress

The music here includes performances of:

1)     Brother John's Blues

2)     Nancy (With The Laughing Face)

3)     Duke's In Bed

4)     What's I'm Gotchere

5)     My Romance

6)     Days Of Wine And Roses

7)     Blue Light

8)     Stompy Jones

9)     I Can't Get Started

10)  The Theme

11)  Friskin' The Frog

12)  Stormy Weather

Skipping trying any kind of multi-channel mix, the DSD 2.0 Stereo sounds fine for a recording of its age with a fullness, warmth and detail you would expect from a top rate Jazz/Blues recording of the ti9me and yes, he plays so well.  When you hear this in DSD and SA-CD, you can appreciate the musicianship even more.  The PCM 2.0 Stereo tracks are not bad, but you miss the full sound imaging at only 16Bits/44.1 kHz.  That is why SA-CD is always such a pleasure to experience.
