Everwood – The Complete Third Season (2004 – 2005/Warner Bros. DVD)

Picture: B-     Sound: B-     Extras: C     Episodes: A-

Love is in the air of Everwood, as Season Three begins with Ephram returns to Everwood after his summer program at Juilliard and is reunited with Amy.  As Ephram, Amy, Bright begin to plan for their future, Andy and Nina begin to find new romances.  New friends and neighbors enter into Everwood including a cute new Dr. Jake Hartman and a troubled but shy Hannah Rogers.  After all their earlier troubles things begin to start looking up and settling down, hope for the future is rekindled

....that is until the past soon catches up with them, Ephram runs in Madison again and finds out the truth why she left... that his father forced her out of town and hid from him the fact she was pregnant with his child.  Relationships immediately become torn and what was perfect now is on the verge of flying apart... Will Everwood be the same again?

The Browns moved to Everwood seeking to start over after the death of Andy's wife.  As a single father, Dr. Andy Brown is a successful former neurosurgeon trying to raise his 9 year old daughter Delia and 15 year old son Ephram.  In the small town of Everwood, everyone is family, a tightly knit community of friends, lovers and families.  People who care, share and are there for each other, only downside is anything that’s a secret doesn't really remain a secret for long.  Families and relationships are tested and tried when truth comes to light.  As the citizens of Everwood grow and find their place in the world, they learn no one person is truly greater than another, and that there is nothing more important than family.

If you like drama then this is a great series, stories on family, friendship, love and lost, all those things in life that can bring people together or tear them apart. The characters were very human and well written out, as the more perfect a character was the greater their faults were.  The series shows how sometimes even the best of intension can go wrong when you try and hide the truth.  Even the name 'Everwood' comes from the word 'evergreen' sort of symbolizing to the characters how they are like evergreen, always there, always green, no matter what the season it is.

Picture and sound are in the same formats (anamorphically enhanced 1.78 X 1 and Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo) as the last (Second) season we reviewed, but I thought it looked better than the last one was described as being.  You might want to start with Season One to really enjoy this, but Season Three is strong enough to recommend on its own.
