Here we have four films from Seduction Cinema - a selection of their vampire
erotica that has recently been repackaged as a two-disc set. The quality
is of a rather mixed bag, but given the type of films, I’ll do my best to pay
less attention to script and production values, and place more emphasis where
it belongs - squarely on the girls.
The first film in the set, Vampire’s Seduction, is the worst looking of
the bunch - as it was shot on some lowly camcorder back in the late 90’s, and
there is certainly no effort to disguise this. The story centers on Wally
Van Helsing, a bumbling dweeb who is tasked with bringing lesbians to the
vampire Dracoola. Wally manages to take his place in the family line
after dispatching of the topless and sexy vampiress.
Next, we have the sequel, Vampire Vixens. Here Wally returns,
loses his suave exterior, and must regain his cool. In between, he takes
some time to gawk at some lesbian encounters.
Sexy Adventures of Van Helsing is sort of a remake of the first film in
this collection, but now with a female heir to Van Helsing’s bloodline,
Wilhelma. It follows much the same path, with Dracoola back once again to
menace the offspring of her famous foe.
Lastly, we have My Vampire Lover. This film wastes no time getting
to the meat of things. Right from the first scene we are treated to a
lesbian vampire encounter that is well shot and possibly the most erotic of
those on this set. Perhaps this should have been the goal all along,
rather than the copious amounts of padding that the other films have.
Sadly, this does not last forever; and a plot does indeed come about, though it
is of the same stuff we have seen on these other titles.
The image is full frame 1.33:1 with quality hovering around current consumer
grade digital. The exception to this is Vampire’s Seduction, which
is grainy and washed out. It’s hard to believe something such as this was able
to make its way into retail outlets.
The sound is in Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo (barely so) and rates even worse than
the video. It exhibits signs of poor location recording, and the music is
often repetitive.
There are some behind the scenes extras, but I rated these fairly high in
consideration of the booklet which is included, detailing the productions and
their genesis. It is actually a fairly decent read through and lends some
credibility to what the studio was making at the time.
Overall, there are some scenes of softcore sex which are tantalizing enough to
warrant a viewing. The bevy of on camera ugly nerd voyeurs, however, does
much to take away from the feeling of the viewer themselves being a
bystander. Rather than being funny, it is off putting, and manages to
make the viewer feel rather uncomfortable whenever they crop up. Who
knows, perhaps someone out there even appreciates these moments and gets a few
extra chuckles because of them.
If you want something different to put on at your Halloween get together, or
when you have some friends over drinking, these films might not be the right
choice for everyone. But I imagine that the intended audience knows what
they’re in for, and will certainly not regret a purchase of this title.
