Brothers & Sisters – The Complete Fourth Season (2009 – 2010/ABC Studios/Disney DVD)

Picture: B-     Sound: B-     Extras: B     Episodes: A-

Welcome to Season Four of Brothers and Sisters.  No matter what changes, challenges, or even crisis the Walker family pulls together as family.  It's a season of major change for everyone, a political campaign for Kitty, Sarah finds a new love, Kevin trying to start a family, Tommy returning from a failed marriage, Justin and Rebecca's marriage, and Nora their mother is just trying to hold them together at the diner table.  It seems like everyone is changing and drifting apart, but when tragedy strikes Ojai Foods, the family company, can they set aside their differences to save the family?

With the passing of William Walker, Nora Walker is the head matron of the Walker family, and must deal with his legacy, his wealth, his company and children he left behind... not to mention a few skeletons in the closet, including a mistress, half-brother and half sister.  As they struggle to get along and live their lives time and time again they find themselves in one fix or another but they are held together by the strong steadfast love of their mother.  From success to failure, the one thing they can't lose is family, and the one thing they do learn is when the chips are down they can rely on each other.

This series is about very large family, their extended family, their friends and their stories.  It has a series of complex relations between all the characters and the ties that bind them together.  The family is not only large, but fairly wealthy and there is a wide range of occupations from being a politician, lawyer, soldier, to being business owner.  The characters personalities clash back and forth (just like siblings), fighting over each one of their own agendas.  The series does a fair range of character types that the audience can relate to, its stories focused on simple themes such as family and the emotions that come with them.  Extras include bloopers, deleted scenes, and behind the scenes with cast and crew.
