Tyler
Perry has seen some of his theatrical releases hit Blu-ray, but several have
been noticeably absent. Five that we
previously covered on DVD have now arrive don Blu-ray and at the same time. Here are the links to our original coverage
with notes below each link, followed by technical information:

The
Blu-ray adds deleted scenes.
Madea’s Family Reunion Full Screen DVD
http://www.fulvuedrive-in.com/review/3925/Madea%27s+Family+Reunion+(2006/F
The
Blu-ray adds three featurettes and stills.
Medea Goes To Jail DVD
http://www.fulvuedrive-in.com/review/8712/Madea+Goes+To+Jail+(2008/Tyler+Per
The
Blu-ray has the same extras.
Why Did I Get Married? DVD
http://www.fulvuedrive-in.com/review/6633/Tyler+Perry+%E2%80%93+Why+Did
The Blu-ray doubles the featurettes.
All are
presented in 1080p 1.78 X 1 digital High Definition presentations, save 1.85 on
Married and Reunion. All have motion blur and softness limits, but
are at least slightly warmer and better than their DVD counterparts. Diary
is the clear winner with the least blur, better color range and the best
overall performance. Diary is also the standout in the other
dialogue-based mixes on all five Blu-rays, all presented in DTS-HDF MA (Master
Audio) lossless 5.1 mixes with the best soundfields of all, though it too has
limits. The rest are too dialogue-based
and sometimes too much towards the center.
