Slings and Arrows – The Complete Collection (Acorn Media Blu-ray Box Set)

Picture: B+ (Season One: B)     Sound: B     Extras: A     Episodes: B+

I have said it in several reviews now, but Slings and Arrows is an amazing series.  Though Acorn Media has not released many series on Blu-ray to date, they have now released one of their top properties in the form of Slings and Arrows: The Complete Series.  This set includes all three wonderful seasons and looks great here on Blu-ray.

Slings and Arrows (DVD) Complete Series Review:

The only thing I would change about Slings and Arrows is I wish it would have went more than three seasons and I wish that more Americans would have seen it when it was originally out.  The series is simply amazing from beginning to end.

The video on Season 1 is merely an upconversion, but Seasons 2 & 3 are a solid HD presentation.  The picture has its moments of grit, but overall is clear with solid colors and blacks.  There is a good amount of detail when compared to the DVD and the skin tones look way more realistic.  I am proud to finally see the series get the treatment it deserves.  The sound is a nice DTS-HD Master Audio track that has the series sounding better than ever and whereas the series doesn’t have much range with the surrounds the dialogue is crisp, clean and clear.

Extras included in this set are the same as the Complete DVD Collection mentioned above, but this time around three additional audio commentaries are included.  The commentaries are well done and insightful.

If you have not taken part in Slings and Arrows in the past now is the time to experience the theatrical insanity.
