Denise Rivera is a voice you may have heard somewhere and not even known it.  From commercials, to voice over work, to narration for documentaries and even GPS systems, she is a distinctive, sought after talker and as it turns out, singer.  Latin Female Voice offers 14 tracks of her singing that is very good and includes some cover songs.

For technophiles, here are the specs for how the disc was made:

The songs, which include several covers, are:

1)     Sube

2)     Mi Fiesta

3)     Alfonisina

4)     a mi manera

5)     Dame un Beso

6)     Dicen

7)     Oye

8)     Si No Hubiera

9)     Sabor Sabor

10)  Un Nuevo Ser

11)  Una Estrella Fugaz

12)  Flor de Lis

13)  Denuevo Sin Ti

14)  Vaya Caramba

We could not secure a list of which songs were covers as of this posting, but Track 4 is a good cover remake of Sade’s hit Smooth Operator.  This is well recorded, engineered and a very pleasant surprise overall.  She can sing, this is an exceptional recording down to the engineering and the musicianship is also top rate.

The DSD 2.0 Stereo is rich, warm and articulate throughout delivering every track with a truly live presence that is not gimmicky or forced.  Though not meant to be a live recording per se, it has great presence and will impress music lovers and audiophiles alike.  The PCM 2.0 CD tracks pale in comparison, though they sound goods for the format, cannot match the DSD range or fullness.

A paper foldout with brief notes is also included.
