Of all the nine realms there is one shines and rules above the rest, Asgard.  But outside the palace gates there is filled with dangers, and creatures of legend.  Young Thor and his brother Loki longing for adventure and a chance to prove their mettle goes on a quest to seek the Legendary Sword of Surtur.  The sword was lost long ago in the Jotunheim, the land of the Frost Giants, rivals of the Asgardians.  What started out as an adventure Thor soon learns the fate of Asgard hangs in balance ...and only he can save Asgard in Thor: Tales Of Asgard!
 
Welcome to lush beautiful land of Asgard, home of the Gods.  Before Thor ever received Mjolnir, teenaged Thor live in lavish comforts of Asgard, never known true danger outside the palace walls.  Seeking to prove himself he and Loki stowaway in the Warrior's Three ship to seek the fiery Sword of Surtur which Odin defeated so long ago, but after facing many dangers and elements they find the sword, but not without the Frost Giants becoming aware its re-discovery.  What started out as a treasure hunt, soon explodes into a war between Asgardians and the Frost Giants who demands the return or the sword.
 
This movie was about the younger days of Thor of when both he and his half brother Loki were teenagers.  Rash, brave, headstrong, naive, and longing for tales of glory the youth seeks a real adventure to prove himself after he discovers everyone in Asgard has kept him safe from any real danger.  He sets out for an adventure unaware he tips the delicate truce between the Asgardians and the Frost Giants.  Thor learns rapidly that ruling means much more than just having power, and before he becomes the ruler of Asgard he may become it's destroyer. Extras include the Making of Thor: Tales of Asgard, The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes bonus episode, commentary w/director, producer, screenwriter, and animators, trailer gallery, and bonus DVD disc.
