This series is about high school teenagers as they explore their sexuality and how their sex affect their lives, the drama it causes between their friends, family and its consequences afterwards.  As the series progresses it shows how their lives parallel their friends and how they are similar to their parents, but then explains the differences between them (and the generations), and how their differences separates them and makes different choices than what their parents would have made.  The tale of how the American family struggles raising it's teenagers in a modern world, the irony in how it's parents want them to grow up, but then at the same time worry when they grow up too quickly and have issues with letting them go.  It explores the nature of teenagers, modern values, worries, concerns, the ups and downs of relationships, teenage pregnancy, marriage, single parent households and many more... each episode is filled to the brim with drama, never a dull moment.

Based on the reviews of the earliest sets, the picture and sound have improved, though I liked the show the most of the three writers who have covered it to date.  You might want to start from the first set, but I enjoyed the show in progress,
