Everwood – The Complete Fourth Season (2005 – 2006/Warner Bros. DVD)

Picture: B-     Sound: B-     Extras: C     Episodes: A-

It's the final season finally of Everwood, everything coming full circle.  Starting with a wedding and the return of Ephram, things will never be the same again, but through all the years, laughter, tears, grief, joys and pains Everwood has been a home and haven for all its citizens.  Will Amy and Ephram's love be able to hold them together after all they have been through?  Ephram tutors another piano prodigy and begins to understand why his father kept the truth from him.  Bright and Hannah, who couldn't be more opposites tests the waters of their relationship.  After Andy's confession to Nina AND Jake moving in with her, can Andy and Nina still remain friends?  After everything the Abbots went through there come a new addition to their family.

It's a season of conclusion, facing up to past, living in the present, and finding the future. Who ends up with who, and people finally realizing where their hearts truly lie.  Through all the pain, mistakes, love and lost, and no matter how much they have hurt each other, it seems to somehow bring them back together, that each obstacle actually bring them closer together.  Ephram faces his father and walks a mile in his shoes realizing he was spoiled brat and the reason his father kept the truth from him was to protect him.  Amy gets caught in a love triangle and wonders if she still loves Ephram.  Can Hannah quiet, conservative and reserved ways with Bright last, much less survive a relationship with Bright who is out-going, party animal and all around playboy?  Can Andy win Nina's heart back, even thought she is now with Jake? See the finally and the conclusion to everyone afterwards.

If there is a series with the most drama then I would have to say Everwood takes the cake.  The heartwarming romances, friendships, heartaches; nothing does it quite like Everwood as an equivalent Hallmark cards and Kodak moments in TV dramas.  Characters who are blessed with the most wonderful caring family and who support them, to throw/push them away and then still come back to them again.  The greatest truth is no greater than simplest of truths, the family that holds them together, and that no matter what happens there is and always will be family in Everwood.
