Major
League Baseball and A&E are continuing their Baseball’s Greatest Games DVD series that began with the landmark
release of the recently discovered footage of The 1960 World’s Series Game 7: Pittsburgh Pirates which we
recently reviewed at this link:

10 more
singles are being issued, then a few weeks later, all
will be available in another convenient DVD box set. One of those single is the 1991 World Series,
Game 7, which we already covered in its entirety as the Minnesota Twins 1991 World Series Collector’s Edition DVD Box and
you can read more about it at this link:

Fans will
want the big box, but I guess those who do not like the Twins or Oakland As
will not be as enthusiastic, even as this is dubbed “The Greatest World Series
Ever”. Other installments include The
Boston Red Sox winning the 1975 World
Series, Game 6, the 1979 Wrigley Field
Slugfest with the Philadelphia Phillies winning out, the St, Louis
Cardinals winning the 1985 NLCS, Game 5,
the New York Mets outdoing Boston in the 1986
World Series, Game 6, the Atlanta Braves beating the Pittsburgh Pirates in
the 1992 NLCS, Game 7, the Toronto
Blue Jays knocking the Phillies down in 1993
World Series, Game 6, the New York Yankees shining in the 2003 ALCS, Game 7, the Boston Red Sox in
triumphant action in the 2004 ALCS, Game
4 and Derek Jeter’s 3,000th
Hit against The Tampa Bay Rays. Fans
will be pleased.
The 1.33
X 1 image on all the DVDs are from various stages of NTSC analog video, though
the newest shows have the best video, while the Dolby Digital 2.0 sound is monophonic
for older games, many of the radio versions and simple stereo for the newer
games. Extras on all discs offer a
synced up radio broadcast version of the same given game so you can watch it in
more than one way. The Jeter DVD adds a
post=game Jeter interview and featurette about his milestone.
