NOTE: This is one of two new
compilation reissues of animated Marvel Comic titles Lionsgate has put together
as the live-action Avengers film is
released to record box office, so this is one of two such reviews including
multiple links to our previous coverage of these titles on Blu-ray and DVD, all
now available.
See the first
three animated Avengers in this
new set, it's origins, the aftermath and their legacy. Why the original team was put together, to
fight an enemy no single hero could defeat on his/her own? With new and updated stories, they fight
alongside S.H.I.E.L.D., an organization to safeguard, defend and watch over
meta/super/xeno population of the planet. With Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Black
Widow, Giant Man, Wasp and the Hulk the must work together to save the world
from impending doom as aliens are planning to secretly invade Earth.
Nick Fury
must hurry to assemble a team of superheroes to face the invading Army, but
with each hero used to working solo can they set aside their differences (and
egos) to work together as a team? In the
second movie, the surviving aliens are found in Wakanda, home of The Black
Panther, and they are after something that could turn the tide of the war, but
can the young king break the rules of his kingdom and seek outside help
from the Avengers? In the third film
with a different cast, the world has been taken over by Ultron, an evil robot,
but the children of the Avengers have secretly survived. Are they up to the challenge and take up their
parent's torch?
This
series of newly, recently animated films of the Avengers, how they were
secretly brought together to fight an alien invasion are pretty good, but aside
from clashing egos and bad guys, the must deal with the Incredible Hulk who
tends to just smash everything. The
final film is an interesting take on the children of the Avengers, secretly
hidden and raised by Iron Man. These
teenage heroes learn that they are the last surviving heroes in the world. In all, it is interesting take in the various
multi-universes of Marvel heroes.
