Power Rangers Samurai Vol 1 & 2 (Saban/Lionsgate DVDs)

Picture: C     Sound: B-     Extras: B     Episodes: C+

Go Go Power Rangers!  The evil Nighlok, Xandred, awakens from his slumber he threatens the human realm once more with his evil monsters and minions.  It's up to a new generation of young Samurai Power Rangers to stop the Nighloks in their tracks and defeat their evil plans. Join Jayden, Kevin, Mike, Emily and Mia as they fight the Nighloks for the first time, together as a team they learn to master their new powers, zords and elements and become the unstoppable Power Rangers Samurai

Now here with two volumes issued at the same time, we get to see how long ago, evil Nighloks from ancient Japan invaded the lands, it is only the Power Rangers Samurai who defeated them long ago.  Now awakened in modern day, the Nighloks rise again to try and bring fear, pain and evil into the human realm to make the evil Sanzu River rise and flood the Earth, but the Power Rangers' descendents have been preparing for their return.  Jayden the Red Ranger, the leader, leads a young team to fight the Nighloks, as they learn how to master their Megazords, they learn how to work together and with the power of teamwork they can do anything.

Based off Japanese culture of super sentai, Power Rangers Samurai is one of the many reincarnations/variations of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.  The story is about a team of young heroes, each with their own power, color and element and giant robot/zord that when they all come together they form the ultimate giant robot to fight evil.  With each battle they fight the source of evil's power (bullying, name calling, greed, unkindness, etc...), the rangers are symbolic of good virtues for kids to follow.  Extras include Power Rangers auditions and video, character gallery, bloopers and weapons gallery.
