Karate-Robo Zaborgar (2011/Well Go USA Blu-ray)

Picture: A     Sound: B     Extras: C     Film: B+

Part motorcycle, part karate master, and all robot, Daimon and his partner robot/motorcycle are here to save the day!  The evil organization Sigma is stealing world leaders and scientists to complete their doomsday giant robot.  With world peace at stake Daimon and Zaborgar ride/leap into action, but when Daimon falls in love with Miss Droid, a Sigma cyborg, he is betrayed by the very people he protects, and is forced to give up the justice he stands for.  Jaded & twenty-five years later, Sigma finally completes their robot, Daimon and Zaborgar has one last chance to fight and prove they are the champions of justice in Karate-Robo Zaborgar.

Secret police officer Daimon is also after Sigma for the death of his father, along with his brother robot Zaborgar they karate-chop through Sigma's minions and agents.  Sigma on the other hand has a special element that is able to transform flesh into robots and is after word destruction.  Everything was fine until corrupt politicians came between the forbidden relationship between Daimon and a female cyborg, this leading to the eventually downfall of Daimon and the break-up with Zaborgar.  25 years later, Daimon has one last chance to battle with Sigma, but complications have arisen when he discovers he has a son and daughter cyborg under the influence of Sigma. Can he fight his own flesh, blood and metal, and become the hero and father he never was?

All I can say is Japanese role actors put America role actors to shame.  This film is filled with robotic cheesiness, complete with rocket punch and breast missiles (no robot is complete without them).  Along with all the PVC costumes and modern CGI, Zaborgar is redone in a modern tale.  The story is filled with drama of has been hero with his robot, along with his evil son who resents his father, and weepy cyborg daughter who wishes only to unite their broken family.  The 1080p picture and DTS-MA 5.1 mix are as good as they are going to get for this kind of visual effects production, so that all works.  Extras include Go, Zaborgar Go! short films and trailers.
