Children’s
Hospital (and in one episode Children’s Hospital UK) returns with all new
absurdities and delights for Season 5. The cast are as crazy as ever as the quick
witted, over the top series continues down the path of psychosis. The fast paced series (each episode is only
11 minutes long) demonstrates all of the goodness of previous season, while
concurrently piling on new bizarre features to keep audiences wondering WHAT
THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE?!
This season we are treated to the staff of Children’s Hospital
continuing to get sex by whatever means necessary, insinuated incest, having
petty feuds, trickery, ‘cannibalism,’ pop culture references galore, dance
lessons, and so much more.
Though we didn’t review the third season it is not of much
consequence. I am a big proponent of
watching all series from the beginning as it helps with continuity, but in this
case the fast paced nature and constantly changing storylines allow even the
most casual viewer to jump in at any time.

1 & 2, please refer to the link below:

The series may seem like pure nonsense, but it is perfectly calculated
humor. The hospital/medical degrees of
the inept staff is merely a casing to propel the insane storylines forward; and
it works! The series is absurdly
hilarious and I can’t wait to view more.
The picture is certainly a step up from Seasons 1 & 2, but is by no means high definition (sadly). The image is crisp, clean and clear but can
continue to have inconsistent moments that aren’t always the most colorful or
sharpest. The sound is a simple Dolby
Digital Stereo that I would have liked in surround, but again it gets the job
done and remains crisp, clean, and clear throughout. Here is hoping for a Season 5 Blu-ray release.
No extras are available for this wonderful series, which is surprising
with the immense amount of creativity that is on set. Perhaps it is due to being a Warner Archive
release (so go online and grab it!)?
Warner Archive continues to deliver amazing series and films that we
would not get otherwise, but definitely some extras would have been nice.
A great series that everyone (well not everyone) should see!
