MM! - The Complete Collection (2010/Sentai Filmworks Blu-ray)

Picture: A- Sound: B Extras: A Episodes: A-

Sado Tarou is a masochist ...and he loves it. He wants to confess to a girl he likes, but he first must cure his problem. His best friend Tatsukichi (who turns to be the girl Tarou likes and is a cross-dresser), recommends him to join the Second Volunteer Club, a special club that helps out students special problems. There he meets Mio the club president who turns out to be a yandere, a pretty girl on the outside but secretly have a violent tendency and personality (which suits Tarou just fine). He also meets Yuno who has a fear of men. As they try to cure Tarou bad habits, Tarou also help the girls come to terms with their own personal problems and insecurities.

Talk about heaven and hell, Tarou has the best of both worlds. When he is punished or beat up each time he gets sexual aroused, so that even when he does something perverted his punishment afterwards still gives him pleasure. This infuriates Mio to no end, the club president as she tries to beat him into normalcy, but also trains her to try and be more ladylike and not always solve things by violence. And Yuno goes without saying also beats up Tarou for just getting too close. Instead of trying to change them Tarou accepts the girl as they are and loves them for it, which then ironically then cause them to fall in love with him instead.

This was your pretty standard harem anime, with a lot of cosplay, cross-dressing and getting into questionable situations. The characters were all cute and very extreme. It makes fun of Otaku-ness or perverted-ness laced with cute romantic comedy. In the end is it better to change a person or accept them as they are?

The 1080p 1.78 X 1 digital High Definition image transfer cis top notch for such a series and the DTS-HD MA (Master Audio) 2.0 Stereo lossless mix is very warm and rich throughout (playing well with Pro Logic surrounds too). Extras include commentary, short story, hidden camera shorts, promotional video and trailers.
