Todd Oliver: Funny Dog (2014/Inception DVD)

Picture: C Sound: C Extras: D Concert: C+

Join Todd Oliver the ventriloquist and his talking dogs, know for his appearances on late night talk shows and a semi-finalist on America's Got Talent. He (and his dogs) is a one man comedy routine. Ventriloquist Oliver is a one man comedy crew with his various dogs and puppets as he sings, dances and tells jokes, he gives each one of his dogs and puppets all different voices. All his dogs comes from animal rescues, his stand up routine has taken him on stage and on air and has endeared him to fans.

Oliver happens to use live dogs with his ventriloquism by attaching a fake mechanical mouth piece on his dogs, giving the illusion of talking dogs. While this appears cute, the jokes only work if one can imagine what dogs would say (if they could really talk), but in reality it is amazing how the dogs just really sit there the whole time and do nothing as their master tells joke (you certainly can't do this with cats). As far as comedians and jokes go, Todd Oliver is family friendly and appropriate for all ages.

The anamorphically enhanced 1.78 X 1 image and lossy Dolby Digital sound is average at best and there are no extras.
