Wrong Cops (2013/MPI/IFC Midnight DVD)

Picture: D Sound: D Extras: C Film: C

In a world where nothing is considered a crime, cops become the bad guys. A group of local cops don't care about the law, drugs, or even the public, except how to exploit them. The cops go around town terrorizing the public, abusing their authority and forcing themselves on others, selling drugs, sexual harassing women, while all the while listening to bad techno music in Quentin Dupieux's Wrong Cops (2013).

Officer Duke is in a pickle when he accidentally shoots a man when he is wrongfully imprisoning a teenager in his home while forcing him to watch himself dancing in his underwear, luckily his colleagues could care less. While Duke goes around town selling drugs, he is flanked by Officers de Luca and Holmes. De Luca is a mentally challenged cop who stalks and forces females at gun point to strip and show their breasts because he has a breast fetish. Holmes is a blonde bimbo who only cares what she can get out of others and isn't afraid to use blackmail. Duke's best friends are Officer Sunshine and Rough, Sunshine is a gay cop who is secretly into anal sodomy, and Rough is a one eyed black man trying to get his lousy music published.

This film is for those who love the macabre, politically incorrect jokes and crude humor. The cops are so bad in the film, the make real drug dealers, gangsters, and pimps look like angels when compared to them. The only real joke was at the end of the film during a funeral scene where one of the main character is stoned out of his mind and said THEY are the ones in hell, and the person who died is in a better place than them ...and the joke was that he wasn't wrong.

The anamorphically enhanced 2.35 X 1 image and lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 sound are really poor throughout and are impossible to laugh off. Extras include commentary with director and cast, featurette with Marilyn Manson and trailer.
