Piggy (2012/Inception DVD)

Picture: C Sound: C Extras: D Film: C+

When Joe's brother is murder by a random street gang violence, he is contacted by his brother's friend, Piggy (Paul Anderson, not to be confused with two major directors with similar names). Piggy convinces Joe that those guilty must be punished, they must take the law into their own hands. Piggy begins training Joe as they hunt down his brother's murderers, with each death Joe more and more into the dark side.

In Kieron Hawkes' Piggy (2012), Joe is the quiet guy, he stays out of people's way and doesn't want much attention. But with the sudden death of his brother, he becomes depressed... his only outlet is his brother's mysterious friend, 'Piggy', together they don on pig masks, they hunt down, torture, kill those involved with his brother's murder and anyone one else associated with it. However Joe can't help feel with each killing, he is losing his own soul. Joe finds out Piggy isn't really his brother's friend, but Piggy is just some guy that used him, he gave him an excuse to murder for the trill of it. In the end Joe gets caught intentionally and heads off to prison smiling ...to where his brother's final killer is locked up.

Justice at any cost, seems to be the theme. Getting revenge is the perfect excuse to become a murderer, problem is once you start you can't seem to stop. A young man is tempted into the darker side of human nature, convincing he is only doing what is for the greater good of society, but in the end he discovers killing isn't good or evil, but whoever survives is the winner.

The anamorphically enhanced image and lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 mix is weak and does not help, plus there are no extras.
