Lalaloopsy Girls - Welcome To L.A.: L.A. Prep School (2014/Lionsgate DVD)

Picture: C+ Sound: C Extras: C Main Program: C+

The Lalaloopsy Girls are all headed to Lalaloopsy Academy where they learn how to be hip, cool and fashionable girls in Welcome To L.A.: L.A. Prep School (2014). As they learn how to cut, sew, design and glitter 101 they meet their new roommates and learn how cool being at Lalaloopsy Academy is. They bake cookies, do their nails, have midnight parties, and have make overs, they learn the most important thing is how to make friends with each other.

Jewel Sparkles and the girls are now all grown up, and they and their pets now attend Lalaloopsy to learn how to sparkle and glitter even more. But when Jewel runs for student body president she is in for some competition with Stormy E. Cloudly, it suddenly becomes a popularity contest between the two girls, may the best girl win.

This was a 2D animation film/series with button eyed characters with rag girls, fashion, sewing and pop music with a decent, anamorphically enhanced 1.78 X 1 image throughout. While the animation style was 'cute', the story line was more suited for teenage girls with subjects about popularity and peer drama.

The lossy Dolby Digital sound is not as good as the image, while extras include character intros and music videos.
