Ancient Aliens: Season 6, Volume 2 (2014/A&E/History Channel/Lionsgate Blu-ray Set)

Picture: B+ Sound: B+ Extras: D Episodes: B+

Ancient Aliens continues to be one of the History Channel's most thought provoking and interesting properties for anyone out there who wants to believe. Every edition that I have watched has make me think more about the origins of our species and has really convinced me that there is some real validity in this. Aside from the content even, the production value of this show is awesome with impressive re-enactments, crisp and artistic graphics and editing, and top notch interviews with experts. There really isn't much left to desire from this beautiful Blu-ray edition. I hope this show keeps going!

This is a journey into a yet uncharted world of astonishing ancestors and phenomenal technological advances. From which supernatural beings do healers and superheroes really gather their powers? Who, or what, were the voices that drove Nikola Tesla to his compulsive need to reinvent the future? Were the winged messengers revered within age-old texts really birds, angels... or aliens?

In these 12 episodes, H2 reaches back in time to explore these alternative inquiries and offers explanations and theories to the questions of where we come from, who we are and what else is out there. This Ancient Aliens: Season 6, Volume 2 collection (an upgrade from the DVD versions just reviewed in a 6-season DVD set elsewhere on this site) connects science with faith and investigates the creatures of early religious texts including the scorpion-tailed locust in Revelations; Ezekiel's fiery, angel-driven chariots; and India's half-human half-reptile gods called Nagas. The voyage travels down the paths of extraterrestrial seduction, Nazi time travel and the mysterious megalithic stone structures which continue to baffle archaeologists.

Episodes include: The Shamans, Aliens and Insects, Alien Transports, Mysterious Structures, Mysterious Devices, Faces of the Gods, The Reptilians, The Tesla Experiment, The God Particle, Alien Encounters, and finally, Aliens and Superheroes.

The image is pristine with a 1080p high definition transfer captured in a 1.78:1 widescreen aspect ratio, a crisp, lossless DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio (MA) track (better than the DVD version) and eight hours and forty eight minutes of content.

There are no extras on the discs but that doesn't take away from what an interesting experience this is. If you can get a hold of this disc and are a fan of ufology then I highly recommend it!
