Little House On The Prairie: Season Four - Deluxe Remastered Edition (1977 - 1978/Lionsgate Blu-ray Set)

Picture: B+ Sound: B+ Extras: B Episodes: B

The adventure and drama continues for the beloved Ingalls family in Season 4 of this treasured American-classic TV series that has never looked or sounded better than on Blu-ray disc! Life on the frontier brings trials and triumphs in this 22-episode season that includes a disappointing trip to Chicago, a devastating drowning followed by Laura's kidnapping, crime and outlaws in Walnut Grove, love and marriage for Nellie, a surprise family inheritance, Caroline's pregnancy, Mary's tragic blindness, and more.

The show lasted for nine seasons from 1974-1983 and maintained high production value and cinematic look with great acting and unforgettable tales that puts it in a league different from other episodic period-piece dramas. Little House On The Prairie stars the great Michael Landon, Melissa Gilbert, and Karen Grassle as members of the Ingalls family.

Episodes on this set include: Castoffs, Times of Change, My Ellen, The Handyman, The Wolves, The Creeper of Walnut Grove, To Run and Hide, The Aftermath, The High Cost of Being Right, The Fighter, Meet Me At The Fair, Here Comes the Brides, Freedom Fight, The Rivals, Whisper County, I Remember I Remember, Be My Friend, The Inheritance, The Stranger, A Most Precious Gift, and I'll Be Waving As You Drive Away Parts One and Two.

The transfer is stunning with a 1080p high definition image that is presented in 1.33:1 full screen aspect ratio as it was originally intended. The picture comparisons of what the footage looked like before to now is a drastic difference with the detail unmatched and the colors richer and more saturated. The sound is crisp and beautiful with a DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Mono track. There's also an optional Spanish and French 2.0 Dolby Digital Mono audio track to choose from and English SDH for the deaf and hard of hearing.

Extras include The Little House Phenomenon Part Four - A Day in the Life of Little House that is continued from previous re-releases on Blu-ray from Lionsgate.
