AMC
is right behind HBO when it comes to exceptional programming with
such hits as Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, and Sons
of Anarchy. All good things must come to an end, as this is the
final season of Kurt Sutter's explosive action drama. If you are
unfamiliar with the premise, Sons of Anarchy centers on the
lives of a close-knit outlaw motorcycle club operating in Charming, a
fictional town in California's Central Valley. The show centers on
protagonist Jackson (Jax) Teller (Charlie Hunnam of Pacific Rim
fame), the president of the club, who begins questioning the club and
himself.
Season
Seven picks up about 2 weeks after the events that led to Tara's
death at the hands of Gemma Teller. Jax is in jail, obviously
reeling from the sudden loss of his true love and anchor to all that
is good. He starts off by making new alliances and shaking up the
old ones in pursuit of his wife's killers - as Gemma has given him
intel on who did it. Juice is in hiding and desperately wants to
gain redemption with his club as he is lost without them. The club
is behind Jax all the way and, as always, proving loyalty through
many ups and downs. Gemma is fighting her own demons in coping with
what she did and all is not on the level with her. Jax's oldest son
is growing up... some might say a little too fast due to what he has
to deal with and what he discovers.
Totaling
791 minutes, the TV-MA-rated show looks splendid in a crisp MPEG-4
AVC codec with a 1080p high definition transfer with a widescreen
aspect ratio of 1.78:1 - which is the TV standard. The soundtrack is
crisp with a lossless English DTS-HD Master Audio (MA) 5.1 track on
all episodes that sound even better than it did on television.
Extras
include...
Audio
Commentary on Straw featuring Kurt Sutter, Paris Barclay and Jimmy
Smits.

Anarchy

The
Reaper Calls - documents the rather alarmingly high body count of
this season.
Sons
for Sandy is a cool piece on New Jersey native Sutter's service
project after the devastating hurricane.
All
in all, Fox has done a great job with this release and it is a must
for fans of the series or fans that like gritty, nail-biting drama
coming to an end.
