Based
on a true story of a girls rehab and recovery. Renee (Kat Dennings)
is a troubled teenage girl, an addict, an addict of drugs, music,
art, and self injury. It's her story... while her story is nothing
new or special, she and her friends are. As she struggles with her
own inner demons, her friends stay by her side and retell her story
of recovery to the world, but Renee would say otherwise, that she is
still recovering, that everyday is a struggle, sometimes as simple as
to choosing to breathe or stay alive. It is often said that artists
and musicians live in a different world, or at least see things
differently in Nathan Frankowski's To Write Love On Her Arms
(2012).
Renee
uses drugs, music and art to escape the pressures of the the world,
but after one party and one drug trip, she was raped and everything
changed. As she begins her recovery and rehab, she learns to accepts
reality for what it is and then makes it beautiful through her art.
The story is about her friends who that never gave up on her no
matter how bad SHE gets, even when she give up on herself. And what
started out single person's tragedy, soon became the voice of
millions...
There
is no fairy tale ending or happily ever after... and that is reality.
Maybe that what makes this film so great... because it's true.
People often think there is a cure, a drug, therapy, or treatment for
some problems, but people forget rehab and medicine might cure
someone in the lab, but the problem is still exists when they return
to their normal lives. Life often isn't what we expected or want...
god, it's far from perfect... but as long as we are alive, shouldn't
we try change ourselves when we can? Chad Michael Murray, Rupert
Friend and Corbin Bleu also star.
The
anamorphically enhanced 1.78 X 1 image and lossy Dolby Digital 5.1
mix combined are sadly very weak and unimpressive. Extras include
