Green Street Hooligans [3]: Underground (2013/aka Never Back Down/Lionsgate DVD)

James Nunn's Green Street Hooligans 3 is a so-so direct to video sequel with decent production design but lackluster acting. Starring Scott Adkins (who was in the previous sequel) plays a tough as nails fighter that will stop at nothing to avenge his brother's death. While the plot is pretty predictable, the acting isn't as bad as it could be.

Danny Harvey, played by Adkins, returns to London in order to find the killer of his younger brother who has been killed during a pre-arranged fights between rival football gangs. Harvey has rejected football related violence but plans to gain his revenge by turning his unfit and overweight firm, the Green Street Elite, based on the supporters of West Ham United FC, into a fighting force using the training methods of mixed martial arts and beat their opposing firm. Supporters of their arch-enemies, based on the supporters of Millwall FC. Victor, played by Joey Ansah, is the martial artists expert who takes on the role of training the fighters.

Picture and sound presentation is standard for DVD format with a 2.35:1 widescreen anamorphic aspect ratio and a lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 track. Running time is brief at 94 minutes but not surprising for a direct to video film. Special Features are slim with merely a Behind The Scenes Featurette.
