Kenshiro
is the master of the world's most deadly martial arts, the Fist of
the North Star and the savior of the end of the world
...unfortunately the end of the world never came. Now, with his
brothers they run and fight with each other working over a
convenience store while protecting the neighborhood from punks and
chasing after the girl at they love same time. The Fist of the
North Star, a secret martial art that is past down from father to
son, the slightest touch can kill a man, causing the opponent to
explode from inside out. After the nuclear apocalypse Kenshiro was
destined to become the savior of humanity.
To
protect the innocent and survivors from roving bands of bands and
other super powered martial artist like him. Now he gets to do that
without all the apocalypse, but because of his deadly martial arts,
everything he touch he destroys. With the help of his brothers,
friends, roving bands of punks/cannon fodder/peanut gallery will Ken
find his place in a non-apocalypse world?
It
just doesn't seem quite right, big beefy muscle guys capable of mass
destruction with their bare hands working in a convenience store...
which is the point and comedy of this series. But to fully
understand and appreciate the series, you would have to have seen or
read the Original Series. What was once a grim, violent, bloody and
realistic story has been turned into a SD comical parody anime and
the change does not make sense or work.
I
also did not like the over-simplistic 1.78 X 1 digital high
definition animation or surprisingly flat, though lossless DTS-HD MA
(Master Audio) 2.0 Stereo. Hope Sentai issues the original show on
Blu-ray somehow. Extras include clean opening and closing animation
and trailers.
