Join
Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo and Raphael in retro Teenage
Mutant Ninja Turtles
(their in HD, CGI and a little wide screen, as reviewed before) as
they protect the streets of New York from crooks, thieves, evil
ninjas, robots and aliens and much more. As they patrol these
streets they search for Shredder and origins of their creation. As
part of Nickelodeon's increase of DVD releases, here is our coverage
of the three latest DVD singles in this revival...
Pulverizer
Power - The
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles meet their first fanboy who want to join
them, but then he gets turned into Mutagen Man
NYC
Showdown -
The Turtles assault Shredder's fortress and must fight legions of
ninjas and robots.
The
Search for Splinter - After
attacked by robot mousers Splinter goes missing and the Turtles track
him to a mysterious organization that may have created them.
The Teenage Mutant
Ninja Turtles have been remade countless times through comics, TV
series, video games and many more and these 3 singles represent 2
later versions. Retro TMNT animation style/movement seemed a
little less well done compared to the new 3D-ish version (Power
is newer, the others are from 2003, but I'm not a fan of either
series' animated (re-)approach), so we continued to be underwhelmed
by the anamorphically enhanced 1.78 X 1 image and lossy Dolby Digital
sound on these singles. None have any extras, but they must be
selling or they would not have issued so many so far as Nickelodeon
continues their exclusive on the franchise, as confirmed by recent
reports.
