Haikyu!!: Collection 1 (2014/Sentai Blu-ray)

Picture: A+ Sound: B+ Extras: B Episodes: A

Shoyo Hinata isn't the tallest volleyball player out there, but he dreams of one day playing in National Championships. He joins Karasuno High and finds out he his teamed with Tobio Kageyama, his old middle school rival, better as the King of the Court. Together, the both dreams of getting to the nationals, but can they learn to work together and build a volleyball dream team?

In Haikyu!!: Collection 1 (2014), Hinata is one of the shortest volleyball player out there, but what he lacks in height he more than makes up in spirit and the natural reflexes to play as forward spiker for the team. Kageyama on the other-hand is considered a genius setter and has the ability to see where the ball is and more importantly where it is to be needed, but until he met Hinata, nobody has been able to keep up with his moves. Together, they bring out the best in each other, but it would be a cold day in hell before they admit there are the perfect couple.

This is your typical sports anime, a story of a newbie underdogs dreaming to become champions (which any sports athlete can relate to). It features on your usual theme such as skill, the training, teamwork and sportsmanship.

The 1080p 1.78 X 1 digital High Definition image is stunning all the way and among Sentai's best, while the lossless DTS-HD MA (Master Audio) 2.0 Stereo is warm, rich and even has nice Pro Logic surrounds. Extras include clean opening and closing animations and trailers.
