Space Brothers: Collection 3 (2013/Sentai Blu-ray)

Picture: A+ Sound: B+ Extras: B Episodes: A

Mutto and Hibito have been dreaming of becoming astronauts since they were kids, but when Hibito became an astronaut before Mutto, now Mutto (the older brother) is chasing after his young brother's foot steps. After passing the various exams, Mutto watches as Hibito heads off toward moon, as he and his companions await the results of their exams in Space Brothers: Collection 3 (2013).

Mutto has always lived in the shadow of his little brother, Hibito - the golden boy of the family and becomes even more so when he became an astronaut. As Mutto follows in his little brother's foot steps he realizes his path will be a very different one from his little brother. After Mutto and his friends face the various hellish tests and psychological challenges set up by JAXA (the astronaut recruiting program), they now await the results to see if they passed. As Mutto gets closer to his goal's he realizes how far ahead his brother has gone.

This series reminds people of what it means to once dream for the stars (think Tomorrowland). It is story about not giving up and mankind spirit and courage towards space travel. While it is inspirational, I really however doubt NASA would place and value a well balanced personality over skill set. If becoming an astronaut was like an Anime, then everyone would be doing it.

The 1080p 1.78 X 1 digital High Definition image is way improved from the last Collection (reviewed elsewhere on this site) with better color, sharper images and great performance, while the DTS-HD MA (Master Audio) 2.0 Stereo lossless track on each show continues to be a very warm, clean, clear presentation that also has healthy Pro Logic-like surrounds. Extras include clean opening and closing animations and trailers.
