Get Hard (2015/Warner Blu-ray w/DVD)

Picture: B+/C+ Sound: B+/B- Extras: B- Film: C+

Get Hard, from Director/Writer Etan Cohen (writer of Tropic Thunder), has some moments are that are pretty funny but a paper thin plot that is almost as predictable as Paul Blart Mall Cop 2. Presented here Unrated with scenes not seen in theaters, the film stars Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart. If you're a fan of both then it is pretty fun to see their chemistry on screen. They definitely play off each other very well, especially in later scenes of the film where their friendship blossoms through many outrageous acts.

When obscenely rich hedge-fund manager James (Will Ferrell) is convicted of fraud and sentenced to a stretch in San Quentin, the judge gives him one month to get his affairs in order. Knowing that he won't survive more than a few minutes in prison on his own, James desperately turns to Darnell (Kevin Hart) -- a black businessman who's never even had a parking ticket -- for help. As Darnell puts James through the wringer, both learn that they were wrong about many things, including each other.

The film looks fantastic on disc with incredible details on skin tones and details in a crisp 1080p high definition transfer with a lossless DTS-HD MA (Master Audio) 5.1 track and a widescreen image in 1.85:1. There's also a digital copy of the film.

I want to add that I really enjoyed Alison Brie in this film. Her parts are minimal and her character is basically that of Ferrell's snobby 'rich bitch' wife, but I think she's absolutely gorgeous and hope to see her in more roles in the future. The scenes with her and Ferrell are spot on and she's especially hilarious in the scene involving John Mayer at Ferrell's Birthday Party in the film.

Extras include...

Deleted Scenes

Get Hard Line-O-Ramas

The Kevin Hart Workout

Ferrell Fighting

Gag Reel

And more (meaning trailers for other Warner Brothers releases).

All in all, Get Hard is a disposable comedy but not as bad as one might expend. If you are fan of both comedians then it's definitely worth a watch.
