Bitten: Season 2 (2015/EOne DVD)

Picture: B- Sound: B- Extras: C Episodes: C

Bitten is a SyFy Channel show based on a Canadian television series based on the Women of the Otherworld series of books by author Kelley Armstrong; its name was taken from the first book in the series. The story centers on Elena Michaels (portrayed by Laura Vandervoort, a female Werewolf who is torn between a normal life with her human boyfriend Philip in Toronto and her Werewolf family obligations in Upstate New York. Among her pack is her ex-fiance Clayton, who is responsible for her becoming a werewolf, which makes things a little complicated knowing the she has a new love in her life.

Obviously geared at fans of Twilight, this pretty average series is ten episodes in length and spans three discs. Bad Blood, Scare Tactics, Hell's Teeth, Dead Meat, Rabbit Hole, Nine Circles, Bad Dreams, Dark Arts, Scavenger's Hunts, and Fine Deporeum.

Presented in standard definition with an anamorphic widescreen transfer and a lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 track. It pushes the boundaries of the format but doesn't quite get to Blu-ray worthy quality.

Special Features include...

A Behind The Scenes Feature

Deleted/Extended Scenes

Stunt Choreography

Gag Reel

Gentling - Video

NYCC Panel

Though targeted to a YA audience, Bitten isn't the worst thing on television but far from the best. If you were a fan of the first season (reviewed elsewhere on this site; at least these shows are an improvement over the debut season, if not by much) then you will enjoy this one.
