A
vicious serial killer is loose on the streets of Hong Kong. Helpless
the police decides to send one killer after another. Xia (Donnie Yen)
is a convicted criminal in prison, but is convinced he can help the
police find and catch the killer ...on the condition they set free.
After time and time again the killer continues to elude the police,
and they enlists Xia for help ...only to discover Xia is the next
target in Teddy Chen's Kung
Fu Killer
(2014).
A serial killer is
after the various martial arts masters. Xia is a convicted master
behind bars and is the only one with the knowledge (and skills) to
catch this particular killer. As the Hong Kong police are clueless,
overpaid, and can't hit the broadside of a barn, but the killer has
his own agenda, to become the number one, and to kill all the masters
in one on one bare fist combat. The police's only hope is Xia. Xia
is a former killer in search of redemption ...but when the killer
threatens the woman he loves, can he become the killer once more?
This
was a another Donnie Yen Hong Kong martial arts movie filled with non
stop fight/action scenes with tons of major martial arts actors that,
in some way, reminded me of much Jackie Chan movies/films. In the
various fight scenes each took place in different areas and the
characters used the environment to their advantage, but
this is one of Yen's best.
The
1080p 2.35 X 1 digital High Definition image is top rate throughout
and constantly impresses, while the lossless, Cantonese DTS-HD MA
(Master Audio) 5.1 mix is pretty consistent if not on the level of
the picture. Extras include behind the scenes, Spirit of Martial
Arts Films featurette and trailers.
