Game No Life: Complete Collection (2014/Sentai Filmworks Blu-ray)

Sora
and Shiro suddenly get sucked into the world of Disboard, where
everything is ruled and decided by games (as long as no cheating, or
if DO you cheat don't get caught). There they work up the chain
challenging ever more tougher opponents until they can face Tet, the
God of gaming and gambling world. Sora and Shiro are hikikomori or
shut-ins who value games and video games above even their own lives
in No Game No Life: Complete Collection (2014).
Together,
they are know as 'Blank', the mysterious pair who has never been
beaten or lost in any game. They are sent to a magical world filled
with various humanoid races where everything revolves around betting
in games to create game world where they are governed by 10 absolute
rules. They can bet anything in the world, from clothes to food to
even their lives, people, and even the entire county. As the bets
get bigger and bigger, eventually Sora and Shiro must unite the
citizens of Disboard to challenge Tet, the God of their world.
This
is your typical gaming anime, the main characters get sent to a magic
world where anything could happen and it is all about who can out
wit, out smart and who can 1-up their opponents. Every time the main
character seems like they are just about to lost they somehow turn it
around and turns out they were playing the other players to act as
they want.
With
its advanced use of color, graphics and art, the 1080p 1.78 X 1
digital High Definition image here is among the best I've ever seen
in Blu-ray history for this collection, while the lossless DTS-HD MA
(Master Audio) 2.0 Stereo tracks with nice Pro Logic-like surrounds
is warm, rich and one wishes was in at least one 7.1 mix. Extras
include Japanese commentaries, No Game No Life shorts, Japanese
commercials/promos, clean opening and closing animations, and
trailers. A Collector's Edition box set with more great
extras (and a much higher price) has also been issued, but the show
is more than worthy of it and justifies such expense.
