The Dog Who Saved Summer (2015/Anchor Bay DVD)

Picture: C Sound: C Extras: D Film: C+

Zeus (voiced by Mario Lopez) is a former K-9 living peacefully with all together with his normal over competitive upper middle class family. After a destroyed party (largely not his fault), Zeus is sent to obedience school. But can he win the tournament and stop 3 bungling burglars at the same time?

In Sean Olsin's The Dog Who Saved Summer (2015), we get Zeus the talking former police K-9 dog, he'd like nothing better than to stay at home and be with his family. Unfortunately, the mother of the house is a party planner and blames him for messing up her latest party plans and then sent him to obedience school for retraining afterwards. Now Zeus has to survive training under a military obsessed dog trainer and his 'dogs', but when 3 local stooges break out of jail to steal a priceless diamond it is up to Zeus to save the day.

Oh how the mighty has fallen.... Dean Cain (Lois & Clark, a.k.a. formerly known for playing Superman when they could not legally call him Superboy) ~boy... has he gotten big & heavy. The was just an over the top children's dog movie where the dogs have their own characters/voiceovers. While it had a great cast made up of former popular actors including Mindy Sterling from Austin Powers, it was string of one lined cliche dog movie.

The anamorphically enhanced image and lossy Dolby Digital sound are even weaker than the film and there are no extras.
