Beyond The Boundary: Complete Collection (2013/Sentai Blu-ray)

Picture: A Sound: A Extras: C Episodes: B-

There is a secret world beyond the world we know, filled with inhuman creatures and those who hunt them. Mirai Kuriyama is a Spirit World Warrior, born from the cursed clan she can manipulate her blood into anything and destroy 'Yoma'. Akihito Kanbara is an immortal half-breed between human and Yoma. Both of them are feared and shunned by their own kind. Under normal circumstances they were fated to fight one another, but everyday, they go together to school, and together can they prove they can go beyond the boundaries of their world?

In Beyond The Boundary: Complete Collection (2013), Mirai is a bespectacled weepy girl who was born with the power to eliminate any 'Yoma', she is feared and resented by other Spirit World Warriors Clans. She is sent to kill Akihito, an immortal still-is-human that he suppress his 'Yoma' side, but the leaders of the Society of Spirit World Warriors no only resents Akihito's immortality, but also fears what his very existence could mean, that human and Yoma can co-exist together. They take advantage of coming of the 'Calm', a period when Yoma powers are weakened and they force Mirai to try and kill Akihito. Both them are friends and have friends who are both human and inhuman, but together can they protect each other from powers that be, who would stop at nothing to prevent friendship between human and Yoma?

The 'Yoma'/monsters of the world were born through collective negative human emotions and energy such as hate, rage, jealousy and can only been seen by Spirit World Warriors. It is ironic when the humans when they seek to destroy something they cause/created in the first place. It is poetic justice when humankind is then destroyed then by what they created and even more humiliating when they are saved by the very thing they tried to destroy. It proves humans are no different (or better) than the monsters they destroy.

The 1080p 1.78 X 1 digital High Definition image and lossless DTS-HD MA (Master Audio) 2.0 Stereo (English and especially Japanese) sound are nearly flawless throughout; the combination among Sentai's best. Extras include Beyond the Boundary Idol Trailer, Japanese promos, clean opening and closing animations, and trailers.
