The Golden Cane Warrior (2014/Well Go Blu-ray)

Picture: B Sound: B Extras: C Film: B+

The Golden Cane Clan is the strongest of the clans, but when Master Cempaka picks her successors her remaining disciples feel they are more worthy and decide to steal the golden cane for themselves and frame the chosen ones for the murdering their master. The Golden Cane Clan keeps the peace between the various clans and not taking sides, but above all is one man who can make the ultimate difference in Ifa Isfansyah's Indonesian martial arts epic The Golden Cane Warrior (2014).

Biru, Gerhana, Dara and Angin are disciples of the Golden Cane Clan, however the Master Cempaka is dying and must pick her two successors and past on the ultimate technique. The evil disciples Biru and Gerhana poisons the master, steals the Golden Cane, frames the true heirs and then takes over all the clans by force. Now, Dara must find a lost master Naga Putih, learn the ultimate technique to clear their names, and save the clans... and the Cane.

This was your typical good versus evil story, that evil is only good without knowledge and compassion. Good cares not for power and instead uses it to protect and serve others, instead of one self. The whole thing stories around what does it mean to be the strongest warrior and the tragedy of cycle of violence for warriors.

The 1080p 2.35 X 1 digital High Definition image was shot on a RED EPIC DRAGON HD camera and looks consistently good, if not always stunning, while the DTS-HD MA (Master Audio) 5.1 mix has a fine soundfield throughout, if not a stunner of a surround mix. Extras include trailers.
