Sixties Rock

Picture: C     Sound: C     Extras: D     Music: B-

In yet another Passport/Koch music clip compilation, Sixties Rock offers mostly black and white clips that often come from the Hullabaloo TV series.  In this case, the tracks include:

1)     Love Potion No. 9 – The Searchers

2)     I Fought The Law – Bobby Fuller Four

3)     I’m A Man – The Yardbirds

4)     Mrs. Brown You’ve Got A Lovely Daughter – Herman’s Hermits

5)     Look Through Any Window – The Hollies

6)     Summer In The City – The Lovin’ Spoonful

7)     California Dreamin’ – The Mamas & The Papas

8)     Times Are Changing – The Byrds

9)     You Really Got Me – The Kinks

10)  Time Won’t Let Me – The Outsiders

11)  She’s Not There – The Zombies

12)  Go Now – The Moody Blues

13)  Wooly Bully – Sam The Sham & The Pharaohs

14)  I’ll Feel A Whole Lot Better – The Byrds

15)  Kicks – Paul Revere & The Raiders

16)  It’s My Life – The Animals

The compilers usually have a great knack for putting together good collections, but this one was a bit odd and awkward, filled with either obscure songs that are so for a reason, or some of the more played-out oldies, if not oldies from hell.  The picture is black and white and from muddy video sources, except I’ll Feel A Whole Lot Better by The Byrds in videotape color.  The Dolby Digital 2.0 Mono is also average, with Mrs. Brown You’ve Got A Lovely Daughter by Herman’s Hermits and She’s Not There by The Zombies in far better versions on Super Audio CD (reviewed in hits sets elsewhere on this site), so they really seem aged.  There are no extras, but get it if you want these clips.
