Batman:
The War Years 1939 - 1945/Superman: The War Years 1938 - 1945/Wonder
Woman: The War Years 1941 - 1945
By Roy Thomas (DC Comics/Chartwell Books Hardcover Editions)
Content:
A (all three)
DC
Comics and Roy Thomas bring you three incredible restorations of
classic comic history with these hardcover and full color The
War Years
books.
Detailing
superhero involvement in World War 2 as it has never seen before is
both interesting and historical. There's nothing quite like seeing
Batman face off against Hitler or Superman join up with the army to
fight the good fight. Interestingly enough, this time period is what
first brought us Wonder Woman who came into existence in 1941 while
WWII was happening. Her edition is my favorite of the three with
breathtaking artwork and excerpts from Sensation
Comics
where she got her debut.
Featuring
artwork by Joe Shuster, Jerry Robinson, and writers Bob Kane and
Jerry Siegel to name a few, these are a must for comic collectors and
superhero fans everywhere especially in the wake of the upcoming Zack
Snyder film Batman
Vs Superman
(2016), where we will see these three icon heroes on the big screen
for the first time!
Each
edition features over twenty classic stories pertaining to each
character from the DC Comics vault and the introductions are both
factual and interesting. The pages within of the comics themselves
fit a full page and are in full color with great detail. All in all,
this is a great collection that I recommend to Golden and Silver Age
Comic Collectors.
