Aura: Koga Maryuin's Last War (2013/Sentai Filmworks Blu-ray)

Picture: A+ Sound: B+ Extras: D Main Program: B+

Saito has spent half his life living in a dream world as a fantasy hero, but now he has left that all behind, to live as a 'normal' human and have a 'normal' high school life. That is until he meets Ryoko. Ryoko is just like he was years ago living a fantasy hero/heroine life. As he tries to not get involved with her, he finds himself drawn to her, protecting her from those who would hurt her. But when he helps her, he is afraid that others will discover his own past, so in order to save her he will have to call on the hero character inside him he buried long ago in Aura: Koga Maryuin's Last War (2013).

Saito is all too aware of how cruel the world and people can be. He knows how lonely those who were like him are. While he has successfully left that part of his life behind him, there are other who haven't given up their fantasy lives, and he cannot forget those who are still there. Especially when he see other like him being bullied for being 'different'. In the end, in order to protect the dreamers who were like him will he have return to the secret of his past?

This was a one shot anime movie about Chunibyos/otakus and for all those living fantasy lives as if they were real. Society often sees and calls these people crazy, when people find out about them, they make fun or bully them. Truth is those who live fantasy lives are lonely and are seeking attention, because they feel life is too small, and too cruel so they rather live in a fantasy world, but it is also true of the opposite, those who bully them live more realistic (but shallow) lives, without imagination or wonder. But then a life with wonder seems flat and stale without joy.

The 1080p 1.78 X 1 digital High Definition image can be added to the top of Sentai's 'demo-picture-throughout' list with amazing performance throughout, while the lossless DTS-HD MA (Master Audio) 2.0 Stereo has fine sonic depth and is well-recorded throughout. Extras include trailers.
