Nurse Jackie: Season Seven (2015 aka Final Season/Lionsgate Blu-ray Set)

For Nurse Jackie: Season Seven, I had little knowledge of the show, but what I did hear did not really interest me. The reason behind this is due to the fact I learned that Nurse Jackie, who worked in the medical field had an addiction to pain pills and the show follows her life as she tries to battle that addiction, as well as, other problems in her life, which to me sounded a lot like the successful Fox series House. He overcomes the same addiction, personal life confrontations, and more. However, Nurse Jackie deviates from the same path as House, up to this Final Season set.

Something different this show seems to do, at least in this season, is to show the audience the reason Jackie cannot quit her drug addiction by showing us the world through her eyes. We visually see the attraction she has with drugs and her walking on the streets like she is in a whole other world.

Nurse Jackie seems to be good at what she does, so the idea of a nurse that is good at her job, but cannot nurse herself back together is a good premise. It even begins with her struggles of after a car accident and being arrested for a car full of drugs.

This show is also labeled as comedy, but that does not seem to fit its actual genre the show seems to emit. There are plenty of funny moments, of course, but it feels more like a drama. Some may call it a dramedy, but it has won more awards for being a comedy, so we could try the term satire as well.

Season Seven features 10 episodes which include: "Clean", "Deal", "Godfathering", "Nice Ladies", "Coop Out", "High Noon", "Are You With Me, Doctor Wu?", "Managed Care", "Serviam in Caritate", and "Jackie and the Wolf".

The Final Season is presented on high definition 1080p Blu-ray in a 1.78 X 1 widescreen format presentation. The audio is a lossless 7.1 DTS-HD MA (Master Audio) mix.

The extras on Nurse Jackie include: Deleted Scenes, The Last Patient at All Saints featurette, Final Shift featurette, Last Dance: Flash Mob with Edie Falco featurette, Gag Reel, and Audio Commentaries with Cast and Crew. A Digital Copy is also included.
