For
those that do not know, Black Stone Cherry is a Kentucky hard rock
band that went on tour in Europe and decided to document it in high
definition. This "rock-umentary", Black
Stone Cherry: Thank You: Livin' Live Birmingham U.K. October 30th
2014,
shows their live performances and you can tell they enjoy playing for
their fans.
I
have never heard of the band, so I would not have thought they would
release a live concert DVD, especially not a Blu-ray, but they did
and their fans seem to really appreciate it. They seem to use all
hand held cameras with fast paced zooming. It does not feel like a
planned concert special that was planned, but rather an afterthought
in which they looked at what they had and said let's give our fans a
little extra. Some may not have a problem with it, because it makes
you feel as if you are almost there.
The
set list they perform includes the following songs:
1.
Rain Wizard
2. Blind Man
3. Me And Mary Jane
4. In My
Blood
5. Holding On... To Letting Go
6. Maybe Someday
7.
Such A Shame
8. Things My Father Said
9. Fiesta Del Fuego
10. Sunshine Of Your Love*
11. Like I Roll*
12. Bad Luck
And Hard Love
13. Drum Solo*
14. Hollywood In Kentucky*
15.
Hell And High Water*
16. Soul Creek
17. White Trash
Millionaire
18. Blame It On The Boom Boom / Layla 19) Peace Is
Free
20. Lonely Train (Can't Judge A Book)
Not
familiar with their music, I will say they had a decent rock sound.
It is clear why people enjoy their shows and why they chose to make a
concert DVD.
Livin
Live Birmingham U.K.
is presented on Blu-ray 1080i high definition 16 X 9/1.78 X 1
widescreen presentation with a lossless, linear (the latter 'L' of
which stands for the 'L' in) LPCM 2.0 Stereo and a lossess DTS-HD MA
(Master Audio) 5.1 soundmix that is better than the 2-channel
version.
The
Blu-ray bonus features also include Blame It On The Boom Boom, In My
Blood and a festival interview.
