A Horse Tale (2015/Lionsgate DVD)

Picture: B Sound: B Extras: C Telefilm: B

An accountant takes his daughter to the countryside to help save farm from corrupt bankers who want to steal their prize horse, Holly. While there, can he save his relationship with his daughter and also find love once more?

In Brad Keller's A Horse Tale (2015), Michael is a rich widower with a 12-year-old troubled daughter, Chloe. After agreeing to help save his client's farm from foreclosure he and his daughter head out to the countryside, hopefully saving his relationship with his daughter by spending some time with her on the side. There he runs into a bigger problem, Sam, the farmer's fiery daughter. Sam believes she doesn't need a man, much less any outside help to save the family farm and legacy. At first Michael and Sam clashes mightily ...but soon does something more blossom between each other?

What girl hasn't dreamt of getting a horse for Christmas? A young teenage girl in need of a mother, a rich city widower in need a of wife, a horse ranch in financial trouble, and a Rancher's proud (and very single) daughter ...you do the math. This was a horse fairy tale story where you could tell where the plot was heading, the answer to all the problems was just marrying each other in the end. Having Patrick Muldoon, Charisma Carpenter and Dominique Swain here didn't hurt either.

The anamorphically enhanced 1.78 X 1 image and lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 sound are as good as the format will get, while extras include minuscule bonus episodes and trailers.
