Some Kind Of Beautiful (2015/Lionsgate Blu-ray)

Picture: B+ Sound: B+ Extras: C- Film: C-

Pierce Brosnan, Salma Hayek. Michael McDowell, Benjamin McKenzie (Gotham) and Jessica Alba star in the mind numbingly predictable Some Kind of Beautiful (2015) from director Tom Vaughan, a film with an outcome that's obvious until its first frame and succeeds in being a paint by numbers romantic comedy with no depth and hardly any humor to boot.

Despite getting a few great shots of the always gorgeous Hayek and Alba, the film sputters along until it stalls out. Getting a mere 4-percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, this Hollywood romantic comedy will soon end up on the shelves next to all the others just like it and lost in the shuffle.

By day, Richard Haig (Pierce Brosnan) is a successful and well-respected English professor in the UK. By night, Richard indulges his own romantic fantasies with a steady stream of beautiful undergraduates. So when Kate (Jessica Alba), Richard's stunning, athletic, 25-year-old American girlfriend tells him that she is pregnant, Richard is shocked. Putting his wandering eye behind him, he marries her and agrees to move to Los Angeles to start their family. It doesn't take long for Richard to realize that his past is hard to escape when he meets Olivia (Salma Hayek) and falls for her after soon realizing that it's Kate's sister.

Presented in 1080p high definition with a widescreen aspect ratio of 2.39:1 and a lossless English DTS-HD MA (Master Audio) 5.1 track that doesn't disappoint and shows off the locations and production values of the film proudly, at least. There is also a UV digital copy of the film for your smart phone or tablet if you like to watch your films on the go.

The only extra is Inside The Heart of A Romantic, which is a standard gushing of cast and crew over the production. Nothing really special or groundbreaking here.

Unless you really like the cast or predictable romantic comedies to watch with your significant other, this is a snooze.
