Wrecker (2015/XLRator DVD)

Picture: B- Sound: B- Extras: D Film: C

In the vein of Duel and Joy Ride, Wrecker (2015) is a fast paced road rage horror/suspense film from the producer of American Mary, directed by Micheal Bafaro and starring Anna Hutchison & Andrea Whitburn, neither of which are too hard to look at. The desert is an interesting backdrop for this story and was surprised at how well shot and edited it was. When you look at the DVD cover, all you can do is cringe.

Best friends Emily and Lesley go on a road trip to the desert. When Emily decides to get off the highway and take a "short cut," they become the target of a relentless and psychotic trucker who forces them to play a deadly game of cat and mouse.

The film is presented in standard definition with an anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio of 2.35:1 and a lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 track. The film is short with a running time of 83 minutes. The only extra is a theatrical trailer.

While not completely original, Wrecker is a decent road killer film that stands up next to other entries in the genre and more entertaining than you might expect.
