All Hell Breaks Loose (2014/Wild Eye DVD)

Picture: B- Sound: B- Extras: C Film: C-

Inspired by Grindhouse and such films of the '70s and '80s, Jeremy Garner's All Hell Breaks Loose (2014) is a modern day attempt at capturing that style of exploitation filmmaking by using demons, over the top sex, and of course badass bikers (not to mention a film filter to 'hide' the fact they shot it digitally). At times slap stick, this low budget action film was made with some heart so it has an advantage over other fare but still doesn't quite hit the mark as being too memorable.

A story of love, leather... and brutal violence! When the Satan's Sinners, a vicious biker gang literally spawned from hell, attack a bride and groom on their wedding day, they get a fight they never imagined. Now, armed with some divine intervention and firepower, the murdered groom is out to save his wife any way he can before she is sacrificed to Satan... even if it means dying over and over again until the job is done. With the help of local sheriff, a priest, and a cowboy who just might be God, all hell breaks loose. So basically, put Sons of Anarchy, Kill Bill, and From Dusk Til Dawn in a blender and you sort of see what this is trying to be...

Presented in standard definition with an anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio of 2.35:1 and a lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 track, the film looks and sounds pretty good on DVD but could benefit to a high def update. Extras include Director's Commentary, Deleted Scenes, and Trailers.

If you like very low budget action flicks with gore and humor, you may enjoy this. Otherwise, it doesn't really give you anything you haven't seen before.
