Bullies Beware!

Director Michael Baumgarten (writer/producer of the heartwarming independent family film Smitty) brings us a fresh take on the kids martial arts genre with The Martial Arts Kid (2015). Full of great action, impressive production design, and charming performances, the film is a must watch for fans of The Karate Kid or 3 Ninjas film franchises that are looking for something new and fun they can enjoy with the whole family. For being a low budget film, it has gotten quite a bit of great notoriety, awarded the highest rating by The Dove Foundation, not to mention high performance at several film festivals.

The Martial Arts Kid stars Don 'The Dragon' Wilson, Cynthia Rothrock, Jansen Panettiere, Kathryn Newton, Matthew Ziff, and TJ Storm. The film is written by Adam W. Marsh and Michael Baumgarten and produced by James Wilson and Cheryl Wheeler.

Robbie (Panettiere) is a troubled teen from Ohio who is always getting into trouble and breaking the heart of his poor grandmother. Hoping to correct his behavior, he is sent to Florida to live with his Aunt Cindy (Rothrock) and Uncle Glen (Wilson), both whom own and operate a successful karate dojo and give lessons. Enrolled in a new school and not quite comfortable in his surroundings, Robbie finds himself smitten with a cute blonde named Rina (Newton) but quickly gets in a brawl with her boyfriend Bo (Matthew Ziff) just for talking to her and loses. Observing his Aunt and Uncle in action, he soon becomes enthralled with the world of martial arts and begins vigorous training. Will he be able to learn the art of martial arts, beat Bo, and win the heart of the one he loves? You'll have to watch The Martial Arts Kid to find out!

The film is available on both Blu-ray and DVD formats boasting a stunning 1080p high definition transfer with a 1.77:1 widescreen aspect ratio and a 5.1 sound mix. The DVD is presented in standard definition with a widescreen aspect ratio of 1.77:1 and a lossy 5.1 surround mix.
