The League: The Final Season (2016 aka Season 7/Fox 2-Disc DVD Set)

Picture: B- Sound: B- Extras: C+ Episodes: C

If you're a fan of the FX Football Fantasy comedy, The League, then you won't want to miss the bittersweet end to the series just released by Fox in this 2-Disc edition set. If you haven't seen the show or are unfamiliar, The League covers the comic exploits of a group of Chicago friends who are obsessed with fantasy football and will stop at nothing to win, while also coping with their everyday lives that often interfere with their passion.

The show stars the hilarious Mark Duplass, Nick Kroll, Stephen Rannazzisi, Paul Scheer, Jon Lajoie, and Katie Aselton who are pretty strong in their roles. The show has great production design and is cleverly executed for what it is, looking good to the end.

13 Episodes span two DVDs that include That Other Draft, The Draft of Innocence, The Blind Spot, Deflategate, The Bully, The Beer Mile, Trophy Kevin, The Last Temptation of Andre, The Yank Ranker, The Block, Adios y Bienvenidos, The 13 Stages of Grief, and the series finale: The Great Night of Shiva.

Presented in standard definition with an anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio of 1.78:1 and a lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 track, The League looks and sounds fine on DVD but is missing some of the texture, depth and detail you would see in High Definition.

Extras include:

Gag Reel

Alt Nation

Taco Tones

Deleted Scenes

Unrated and Extended Episodes not seen on TV

Personally, I'm not a fan of sports or Fantasy Football so a lot of the jokes went over my head but if you are into it then you will probably enjoy it more than I did.
