America's Deadliest Home Video (1993/Camp Motion Pictures/Alternative Video DVD)

Picture: D Sound: D Extras: C Main Program: C

After Doug (Danny Bonaduce) catches his wife cheating on him decides to go on a road trip with his home video camera in tow. Unfortunately, he runs into a the Clint Dryer Gang, fortunately their gang leader has a bit of and ego and wants Doug to 'document' their 'adventures' in Jack Perez's America's Deadliest Home Video (1993).

Doug loves making home videos, but then catches his wife cheating on him (who can blame her for having a voyeuristic/stalker husband) and he decides to take a road trip and a 'break' from from his marriage (but not from his camera). While video taping his trip, he accidentally tapes a crime and then become part of the Clint Dryer Gang. He find a kindred spirit in Dryer (Mick Wynhoff) in where he wishes to become famous (or infamous more accurately), but Doug will have to decide what he wants more ...to be in the gang or to video tape his 'story'.

This was a fictional drama of what happens with a camera and develops Stockholm syndrome with his captors who wishes to become famous like 'Bonnie & Clyde'. Through media they believe they will become infamous and are remembered through history. Nothing new here, but maybe this was more interesting somehow at the time.

I know the picture and sound are supposed to be rough and bad, but thus is the age of the production. Expect rough viewing. Extras include an audio commentary and trailers.
