The

Set)

Fans
of the hit NBC show The Blacklist will be certainly excited
over this fantastic Blu-ray release from Sony that is packed to the
brim with extras and sports an impressive transfer that greatly
improves upon the original HD television broadcast. Starring James
Spader (Secretary) as Red, who is an actor to whom I'm so
relieved is finally getting some of the credit he deserves, the show
is sort of a take on Silence of the Lambs where a criminal
mastermind must aide the police but turns the concept on its head a
bit.
Picking
up where Season 2 left off, we have the beautiful FBI Agent
Liz Keen (Megan Boone) who is now on the run with Raymond "Red"
Reddington (Spader). With Assistant FBI Director Harold Cooper
(Henry Lennix) under investigation, a conflicted Agent Donald Ressler
(Diego Klattenhoff) leads the tireless FBI on a gritty manhunt for
Liz and Red. The closer the two fugitives get to one another, the
more Reddington manipulates her and dives deep into her troubled past
and conflicted psyche.
Episodes
include The Troll Farmer, Marvin Gerard, Eli Matchett, The Djinn,
Arioch Cain, Sir Crispin Crandall, Zal Bin Hasaan, Kings of the

Solomon, Mr. Solomon: Conclusion, Cape May, The Artax Network, Susan
Hargrave, Alexander Kirk, and Alexander Kirk: Conclusion.
Presented
in 1080p high definition with a widescreen aspect ratio of 1.78:1 and
a strong-sounding English, lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track in
English and French, the show sounds fantastic on Blu-ray disc and
really outdoes the original broadcast in every way. Also included in
the five disc set is a Ultraviolet Copy.

If
you're a fan of James Spader after watching this show, I would
suggest you check out the much maligned Keanu Reeves crime thriller
The Watcher, where Spader plays the opposite role in a
troubled Police Detective. Kind of interesting to see him play both
sides. This is a fantastic release, however, and isn't one to be
missed by fans of the show.
